Congratulations to Dr Alex Chappard for passing his viva

Massive congratulations to Alex, who passed his PhD viva on 23rd May. Alex joined the group in 2018 as an OPTIMA CDT student, and worked on investigating how alpha-synuclein aggregates within cells, leading to a publication in Nature Neuroscience. He subsequently developed an approach for visualising alpha-synuclein oligomers using antibodies and single-molecule confocal microscopy (work published in Angewandte).

Alex was examined by Professor Mark Bradley and Dr Tim Craggs, who were both impressed with his work and performance in the viva examination.
